After two highly limited releases of the original New Balance 850 this year, Highsnobiety is partnering with the Boston brand to offer New Yorkers another shot at obtaining the elusive sneakers. Originally released over two decades ago in 1996 and conceived by New Balance’s youngest designer at the time, the 850 was the brand’s first silhouette to omit the iconic ‘N’ logo in lieu of the more modest ‘NB’ branding across the tongue and heel. The silhouette first made its reappearance in June with an exclusive launch at streetwear boutique Aimé Leon Dore, followed by a second drop at Bodega in extremely limited numbers. Now Highsnobiety is taking the show on the road and will be offering pairs throughout NYC via an experiential scavenger hunt unlike anything we’ve done before. Highsnobiety will be scouting the city on October 26 in a custom-wrapped truck stopping at predetermined locations that’ll be revealed on @highsnobiety’s Twitter feed that day. Participants must register prior to drop day in order to be considered, and all shoes are awarded on a first come, first served basis.

How It Works:

  1. Register to enter here
  2. RSVPs will be emailed a special “Golden Ticket”
  3. Stay tuned to @highsnobiety’s Twitter feed on Oct. 26 for the truck’s locations throughout the day
  4. Be one of the first to show up at the designated location to claim your sneakers
Check out the map below for approximate locations of each truck stop.
